Courses

At The American Institute of Bioenergetics, we have qualified instructors who are able to provide our students with comprehensive, first-rate education and training in different bioenergetics practices.

Through their vast knowledge and experience, we are able to offer coursework in the following practices:

Acupressure

Acupressure is a traditional Chinese medicine technique based on the same ideas as acupuncture. Acupressure involves placing physical pressure by hand, elbow, or with the aid of various devices on different acupuncture points on the surface of the body.

Body Reflexology

Reflexology can be achieved more effectively by working the whole body, not only at the feet, hands, and ears. Acupuncture and massage are two of the main means of whole body reflexology. The whole body reflexology is based on a novel theory that there are definite reflex zones distributed on the surface of the whole body. It was derived from the classical Chinese meridian system and developed in the 1970s through the pioneering work of Guan-Yuan Jin, M.D.

Chair Massage

Chair massage counters the circulatory problems inherent with office work — and provides an appreciated break for employees. Sitting in a massage chair opens up the back muscles, relieves strain on the neck, and provides a gentle respite for eyes usually glued to a computer monitor. Even 15 minutes of massage to the neck, back, arms, and hands can increase circulation, restore energy levels, and help keep the body injury-free.

Chinese Medicine Theory

This certification process includes 4 levels of courses necessary to develop a comprehensive and successful business as a Touch for Health instructor and/ or practitioner. The Touch for Health training is strong enough to stand on its own, as is an excellent addition to previous training in the health field.

Energy Work

Energy work is a general term for modalities that are based on the idea that the human body consists of energy fields that can be stimulated through various techniques in order to promote wellness. The concept of energy fields as a vital life force can be traced back to the oldest medical systems and is known as Qi in China, Ki in Japan, and Prana in India. Some energy modalities, such as acupuncture and shiatsu, have their roots in ancient medicine, while others, such as therapeutic touch and polarity therapy, are a contemporary and eclectic interpretation of one or more ancient practices. But the underlying basis of all of these modalities is the idea of energy flow in the body.

Neuromuscular Massage

A form of deep tissue massage that is applied to individual muscles. It is used to increase blood flow, reduce pain and release pressure on nerves caused by injuries to muscles and other soft tissue. Neuromuscular massage helps release trigger points, intense knots of tense muscle can also “refer” pain to other parts of the body. Relieving a tense trigger point in your back, for example, could help ease pain in your shoulder or reduce headaches.

Reiki

A Japanese word that can be translated as universal life force energy or spiritually guided life energy. It is a powerful technique for relaxation and healing through a gentle laying on hands. A Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) practitioner’s hands simply guide the spiritual energy which comes from God to heal the whole person. Reiki can also be given to animals and plants or used to bless events. Reiki is often given to complement (not replace) traditional medicine, and it complements any method of alternative healing.

Sports Massage

Designed to help you train better, whether you’re a world champion or a weekend warrior. The techniques have been adapted to meet athletes’ special needs. Pre-event massage can help warm up muscles and improve circulation before a competition, and can also energize or relax an athlete and help him/her focus on the competition. Post-event massage can push waste products out of the body and improve recovery.

Thai Massage

Thai Massage is an interactive manipulation of the body using passive stretching and gentle pressure along energy lines. These movements help to adjust the skeletal structure, increase flexibility, relieve muscular and joint tension, stimulate internal organs, and balance the body’s energy system. The effect is uniquely relaxing as well as energizing. Receiving a Thai massage is similar to doing yoga without putting forth any effort while also getting acupressure treatments.

Touch for Health Kinesiology

Kinesiology encompasses human anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, biochemistry, biomechanics, exercise psychology, and sociology of sport. The relationship between the quality of movement and overall human health is also studied. Find complete information here.
